How to Get Your Home Ready Before Our Cleaners Arrive

A few minutes of prep gets you a deeper, faster clean — here's exactly what helps (and what you can just leave to us).

You don't need to clean before the cleaners come — that's the whole point. But ten minutes of light prep means more of the appointment goes toward actual deep cleaning instead of tidying, which means a better result for the same visit.

10 Minutes Before They Arrive

  • Pick up clothes, toys, and personal items off floors and counters
  • Clear dishes out of the sink so we can actually clean it
  • Put away valuables or anything fragile you'd rather handle yourself
  • Make sure there's a clear path to the areas that need the most attention
  • Leave a note (or tell us) about anything that needs extra care — a stain, a delicate surface, a spot you're most worried about

What You Don't Need to Worry About

You don't need to pre-clean, vacuum before we vacuum, or scrub anything yourself — if you're doing that, you're paying for a service and then doing part of the job anyway. Dishes in the dishwasher, laundry in the hamper, and general household clutter are all completely normal and exactly what we expect to work around.

If You Have Pets

Most pets do fine with cleaners in the house, but if yours gets anxious around strangers or vacuums, it's worth putting them in a separate room for the visit — better for them, and it lets us move faster through that area. Just let us know if there's anything we should know about getting around them safely.

Access on the Day

If you won't be home, make sure we have a way in — a key, a code, or a plan with a neighbor — confirmed the day before, not the morning of. That alone is the single biggest thing that keeps an appointment from starting late.
